Common Questions

The fine print, in plain English.

Most Ontario homeowners connected to the provincial electricity grid or to Enbridge Gas qualify for the Home Renovation Savings Program. Equipment must be ENERGY STAR certified or on the Natural Resources Canada qualified products list, and the work must be completed by a program-enrolled contractor. Condos and new-construction homes are generally excluded. We confirm your exact eligibility for free before any work begins.

Yes. The Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program is active and accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis while budget remains, and the federal Oil-to-Heat-Pump Affordability grant continues to accept applications. Program terms and budgets can change, so we always verify current availability against the official program portals for your specific project.

Many upgrades can be stacked. For example, a qualifying heat pump paired with insulation upgrades can unlock significantly more than a single measure alone. Certain measures such as windows, air sealing and heat pump water heaters require the bundled path, which involves a pre- and post-retrofit home energy assessment plus at least two upgrades. We build the package that maximizes your total return.

Checking your eligibility and getting a rebate estimate is completely free with no obligation. You pay for the HVAC equipment and installation like any home upgrade, and we apply every rebate you qualify for directly against that cost and handle the paperwork on your behalf.

All work is completed by our network of licensed, insured and program-enrolled HVAC contractors. Using an enrolled contractor is a requirement of the rebate programs, and it protects both your rebate eligibility and your equipment warranty.

A typical project moves from eligibility check to completed installation within a few weeks, depending on the assessment schedule and equipment availability. Rebate funds are then issued by the program administrators after the paperwork is filed and verified.
